You'll probably want to replace the email validator in email.js with
your own favorite javascript email validator.
Using formvalue()
You can't really use formvalue() from any onsubmit code because the javascript
form object "loses" the named fields. If you have a better explanation please
share with me. So instead, use a regular button to start validation and then
submit the form with javascript if it passes.
